Stephen Goose

Steve Goose is executive director of the Arms Division of Human Rights Watch.   He played an instrumental role in bringing about the international treaties banning cluster munitions (2008), antipersonnel landmines (1997), and blinding lasers (1995).  He serves as the chair of both the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (co-recipient of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize) and the Cluster Munition Coalition. Goose and Human Rights Watch are leading the new global Campaign to Stop Killer Robots, which calls for a pre-emptive prohibition on fully autonomous weapons.
