Dirk Freudenberg

Dirk Freudenberg is a political scientist. For several years, he was a senior consultant and operations manager at a consultancy firm for crisis and security management. Since 2002, he has been a lecturer at the Academy for Crisis Management, Emergency Planning, and Civil Protection at the German Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance. He currently works at the department for Strategic Management and Leadership, Emergency Preparedness and Planning, Educational Principles, and Quality Management.. Freudenberg participated in the Manfred Wörner Seminar at the German Armed Forces Office and in the Security Policy Seminar at the German Federal Academy for Security Policy. As Lieutenant Colonel in the parachute regiment, he was deployed overseas several times (KFOR 1999, ISAF 2004, and 2011/12). In 2015, Freudenberg completed a further overseas deployment as part of a German Federal Police delegation – the German Police Project Team (GPPT) – to advise and train the Afghan deputy interior minister and the Strategy and Policy department.
